Aviva Canada Community Fund returns for 10th anniversary

Aviva Canada has launched the 2018 edition of its Aviva Canada Community Fund initiative, and this year is an important one. The annual competition is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the company says it will donate $1 million to community initiatives around Canada this year.
Each year the insurance company asks community projects to compete for funding, awarding several winners across categories. Opening the competition this year, Aviva Canada is currently accepting submissions for 100 prizes or $1,000.
The Community Fund will eventually take submissions for higher funding and in total a further 60 projects will be funded to a total of $900,000. Aviva says the main competition will open on August 28 and finalists will be announced towards the end of the year.
“Finding ways to bring people together and foster a sense of belonging to a community is not
only a nice thing to do, it’s necessary,” said Colm Holmes, president and CEO at Aviva
Canada. “We know that bringing people together can help create stronger and healthier communities.”
“Aviva Canada knows that when people come together for a common purpose to create positive change, their community thrives. For the last 10 years, the ACF [the community fund] has stood for these values because we believe communities are truly #BetterTogether,” Holmes added.
Since its inception in 2008, the Aviva Canada Community Fund has funded 280 projects around the country, donating a total of $8.5 million.
