The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) released on Monday a video that highlights its solution for digitizing pink slips. The clip shows the group’s digital proof of auto insurance (eSlips) and how they will work for customers.
CSIO says it will launch the solution by the end of this year. In its accompanying release, the association says the eSlips solution will make things easier for customers and authorities, while also cutting costs.
When announced in June, CSIO said the solution was “an industry solution for the digital delivery of proof of auto insurance cards, or eSlips.”
The eSlips solution has been developed in partnership with CSIO carrier and broker members. It uses digital wallets on mobile devices across Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, and Microsoft’s Windows platforms.
This integration is important because it is “the same technology that 57% of Canadians already use today to store boarding passes, event tickets, loyalty cards and credit cards,” CSIO said in a press release on Monday.
“We are excited to work with our members, including Gore Mutual, Northbridge Insurance, RSA Canada, and a number of brokerages on developing this eSlips solution for the P&C industry,” Catherine Smola, CSIO president and CEO, said in the release. “eSlips will provide members with an easy, accessible way to meet consumers where they are today – on their mobile devices.”
