My IBAO Learning PATH brings inclusive learning to brokers

The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) has announced My IBAO Learning PATH, an extension of its existing e-learning management services. In an announcement today, the association said the solution is a custom-built platform that allows brokers to develop more knowledge in the industry.
“What we wanted to do with the new library was create a seamless flow,” said Kevin O’Hare, education supervisor and instructional designer for IBAO. “We wanted to be able to manage things more directly, create things or change things as we need, and also allow the membership to – from our webpage to their profile page within the membership system – have it all interlink smoothly.”
Developed in-house, My IBAO Learning PATH has recreated IBAO courses to include new multimedia content to improve learning. Interactive features have also been included, with the IBAO saying it wants the platform to be inclusive for all brokers.
“It doesn’t really matter the device or where they log in,” said O’Hare. “They don’t need a computer with particular software pre-installed within their browser. They can log in at home, if they need to go and take a couple of courses off-hours. They can start in one venue, like at their office, and then they can pick up on their iPad or their phone later.”
The platform will receive embedded video contents to enhance course, including content from instructors to help brokers learn about common and uncommon situations.
“What we really want to do is create a uniform and engaging interactive learning component that our membership can access as they need, when they need, as opposed to, ‘I need it right now and I don’t need it after I’m done’,” said O’Hare. “When it becomes a hurdle at work, ‘I forgot about this, I thought I heard about this,’ they can go back to My IBAO Learning Path and review it, and they can start and stop wherever they want.”
