Uber Canada says it is introducing the “Driving Change” campaign, a program that is already available in other regions. The ride-hailing giant says it is partnering with sexual assault and domestic violence prevention groups to bring more awareness to these social problems.
In a press release, the company said bringing awareness to these issues will help reduce domestic violence and sexual assault. By working with several major prevention organizations, Uber Canada will engage in education campaigns and give resources to improve awareness initiatives in Canada.
Uber’s introduction of Driving Change is a multi-million dollar project that has been launched globally. For its Canada Driving Change movement, Uber is collaborating with Woman Abuse Council of Toronto, the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre, YWCA Canada, and other organizations.
Uber says by working with these partners, more awareness will be raised on gender-based crimes in the country.
